I’m thrilled to be back with another guest post about how to refresh your wardrobe and maximize the use of everyday pieces from your closet. In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to create a stunning jeweled headband using old beaded jewelry from your collection. With the holidays approaching and all the festive gatherings that come with them, a large beaded headband serves as the perfect statement accessory to elevate any outfit—so why not make your own easily and affordably? Keep reading for detailed instructions and photos on crafting your very own DIY jeweled headband.

What You Will Need:

  • A wide-brimmed headband (you might already have one in your collection, but if not, they can be found cheaply at any drugstore, dollar store, or craft store).
  • A generous handful of beads. I gathered these from unraveling old necklaces and bracelets in my costume jewelry stash.
  • A hot glue gun and a few glue sticks.

Instructions:
Begin by applying a small amount of hot glue to the top center of your headband and carefully place your first bead. I like to start with the largest bead to create a focal point, then build around it.

Continue gluing beads onto the top of the headband in the same manner—adding a pea-sized amount of hot glue and quickly covering it with beads.

Exercise caution when placing the beads onto the hot glue to avoid burns.

Keep applying hot glue and adding beads until one entire side of your headband is adorned. I usually don’t follow a strict pattern; I prefer to let the arrangement unfold naturally, making each jeweled headband a unique creation!

Once you’ve finished one side, repeat the process on the other side of your jeweled headband.

And there you have it—a simple, budget-friendly jeweled headband made from your old costume jewelry! Give it a try and craft a one-of-a-kind statement piece that’s perfect for any holiday ensemble!
